Ulukhatok Printmaking Studio 2011

Residency in the High Arctic

Ulukhatok (formally Holman) Printmaking Studio reopened, after being shut down for ten years. I went to Ulukhatok for three week in 2011 on the recommendation of Darlene Wright, Inuit curator at the Winnipeg Art Gallery. In addition to giving a series of workshops, I worked along side the Inuit printmakers and got their electric etching system up and running. While I was in Ulukhatok I produced a zinc plate of my parka, which was the start of my Parka Project.
