In 2004 I was awarded a grant through Video Pool

in Winnipeg to create a first video.

SUGAR is a multi-phased, interdisciplinary project

about disturbed adolescent girls.

The project exposures of the tumultuous

period for a girl coming of age in a sexualized

and media saturated culture.

On the left are two installation shots from SUGAR

during the exhibition at Xchanges Gallery, Victoria, BC.

The video was projected onto a bed of sugar

on the floor.  Sugar was used in

response to the childhood rhyme

"little girls are sugar and spcie

and everything nice."
